D. Bryan Hughes
Bryan Hughes has dedicated his law practice to representing working
families and small businesses.
Born in Quitman, Texas, Mr. Hughes grew up in the nearby community of Mineola.
He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics, with honors, from the
University of Texas at Tyler in 1992. He earned his law degree from Baylor
University in 1995. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable William M. Steger,
U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, from 1995 through 1997.
Mr. Hughes was admitted to practice law in Texas in 1995, and in the U.S.
District Court for the Eastern District of Texas in 1996. He joined The Lanier
Law Firm in 2003.
Mr. Hughes also serves in the Texas Legislature, having been elected State
Representative in November of 2002. As a Member of the Legislature, he serves on
the House Judiciary Committee and Human Services Committee.
He is a director of the Christian Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the
Northeast Texas Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Texas Trial
Lawyers Association, and Bar Association of the United States District Court for
the Eastern District of Texas. Mr. Hughes has also served as a Disaster Relief
Volunteer for the American Red Cross and, for almost a decade, as a trustee for
the Stewards Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides building loans
and health care services for churches and their employees.
